Today is 2 months since Alex was first placed in our arms. The active and happy girl we have now bears little resemblance to the frightened girl we meet then. Alex barely uses Chinese anymore. She repeats almost everything we say and makes us realize the phrase we use over and over. Eating and sleeping remain our major problems. Some days Alex eats anything I give her and other days I can't even get her to eat her favorite things. She will sleep through the night, but getting her to sleep is a problem. Naps are hit or miss although I think she still needs them. Tomorrow, I return to work full time. I'm not sure which is more exhausting, chasing after a 3 year old all day, or working at the clinic.
